Week Six

Our first goal for this week is to write a 3 by 1 keyboard matrix code and test it with the previously constructed matrix and the Arduino. We also want to completely finish learning about capacitive sensing and add the necessary information to the circuit diagram. Finally, we want to continue working on the full code and write the Final Report Draft. #WaitWeShouldBeOverHalfWayDone #TimeFlysWhenYoureNotHavingFun

The AutoCAD drawing for the top layer of acrylic board was finalized, and one of the purchased 5"x13"x1/8" was laser-cut accordingly. See images below for the final drawing and the cut board.

It was discovered that, despite power and ground of a battery turning on the LEDs when a switch is pressed, the keypad library which we are using does not have the ability to turn on the LEDs. Therefore, we will have two separate matrices for the switches and the LEDs.

A 2 by 3 and 1 by 3 switch matrix have been constructed and tested and are available in the videos below. However, Gabrielle can only seem to get the Arduino to print to the Serial Reader, and not to a useful document or browser. It seems every timme we take a single step forwards, we have to turn around and take another route because the bridge we planned to cross has been completely destroyed.

A new digital wire diagram was begun this week via the Fritzing software and is almost completed with the LED and switch matrices.

Amy has almost finished figuring out the needs of capacitive sensing and should be able to add this to the wire diagram next week.#GoAmyGo
